Teknik Teams with Playentertainment to Create
NBC’s Next Action Star™ Mobile Game

New game will feature all of the elements of NBC’s
action-packed reality series.

NEWPORT BEACH, California, April [19], 2004 -- Teknik Digital Arts announced today that it has formed a joint venture with Playentertainment to exploit the license that secures the worldwide rights to develop mobile, console, and PC games based on the  TV series Next Action Star™.   Matrix Trilogy and Die Hard producer Joel Silver, is Executive Producer of the series along with GRB's Gary R. Benz and Brass Ring Entertainment’s Cris Abrego and Rick Telles.  Silver Pictures Television's Gregory Noveck and Steve Richards are co-executive producers.  Next Action Star tracks 14 lucky men and women through a gruelling competition and elimination process designed to elevate two lucky winners from everyday people to “The Next Action Star”. 

“The show's demographics and subject matter are expected to be within the more mature end of the interactive entertainment industry’s players and make the games a natural," said Larry Meyers, Manager of Playentertainment.“

We designed the game to emulate the action in the show, so some of the challenges will test a player’s coordination and others will test his or her wits.  In the end, the player who best understands the character he is playing, in conjunction with the goals of the game’s event, will win” said Corey Comstock, Chief Creative Officer of Teknik Digital Arts.  “We have scheduled the mobile game to release at the beginning of summer in conjunction with the broadcast premier of Next Action Star™, June, 15th on NBC.”
