PACE (PACIFIC ADVANCED CIVIL ENGINEERING)
Authoring of hundreds of models and animations including fly-throughs, exhibits and designs for PACE. These 3d animations cover acres and acres of landscaping, structures and water elements as well as waterfalls and streams. Partical systems, dynamic simulations, animated textures and animated displacement maps. Personal modeling, texturing and animating of all of PACE's complete 3d library including rocks, trees, plants, animals and people. In other words, absolutely everything that you see was built from scratch. Here are a few selected projects from the dozens performed.

SHORT ANIMATED FILMS
APPEARANCES..... This short film studies the new (at the time) 3DS MAX dynamic simulation features, CLOTH and FUR which was a welcome addition but both features had monumental bug issues. Collision calculations were inconsistent (hair passing through objects instead of bouncing off) and cloth calculations often crashed the entire program unexpectedly. It took massaging, tweaking, and compositing to get decent results. Writing and arranging of the original music soundtracks with MIDI. GO OUT AND PLAY..... This short film for Sesame Street utilizes animated sketchy-looking textures and backgrounds. The story's theme prods children to break away from their screens, go outside and use their imagination to have a fun adventure. WOODY AND THE GIRL WITH THE PINK CHAINSAW..... This film pays homage to the slapstick cartoons of yesteryear. More importantly, this also does a deeper dive into cloth and fur simulations, studying different states (wet, dry, muddy, burnt). Interesting simulation calculations achieve realistic results. NOVELS AND BOOKS
BLACKWATER..... An action thriller about a surfer abducted and confined to a bubble cell beneath the ocean. Yes, sharks and mysterious sea creatures abound, but the most dangerous menace is the other prisoners. The intent for this book was an interactive experience with animations and links but the online technology has not evolved enough to support it. However, the book does includes 30 hybrid illustrations utilizing hand-drawn art and CGI.

TURTLE ISLAND..... An action thriller about a college student who lands a summer job on an island preserve that goes bonkers. This murder mystery gets eerily complicated by an horrific weapon and an intense hurricane. The intention was to create an interactive experience so there are lots of footnotes (these were supposed to be subtle links with animations). The book includes 30 hybrid illustrations utilizing hand-drawn art and CGI.

HIP HARRY OUTSIDE THE BOX..... This is a fun compilation of art and cartoons from early career work. However, lots of new comic material as well and sketchbook art that makes this an enjoyable fun read with hundreds of illustrations and off-the-wall humor.
